1RIC is the pseudonym of mixed reality designer & artist Asad J. Malik working primarily with the Microsoft Hololens.

View Résumé

Asad's work over the last few years has been focused on speculating technological progress through art and design. He's conceptualised and developed projects like Noema & Aurelia where he's used currently existing tech to give a taste of the future.

Asad was born in Pakistan and was captivated by the ability of technology to create more complexity at an early age. At 16 years old he moved to the Netherlands to attend the prestigious United World College on a scholarship. Since then he's been designing and developing products for both web and iOS. His work has also included a publication with teenage writers from over 70 nationalities and activism against cyber censorship. Asad has been included on Pakistan's 25 Under 25 list of tech and entrepreneurship for the last two years.

MIXED REALITY

Years of work on speculative design/art have led Asad to believe that Mixed Reality is bound to be the major computing interface of the next two decades. This is an exciting new technology that is not only more immersive but also a less intrusive way to interact with the information in our lives.

He's currently working on a mixed reality content platform that will soon be available for the Hololens.
